The best Ontario VQA Rose wine to drink in fall

The 6 Ontario Rosés you Need to try This Fall

It’s no secret that I LOVE Rosé. But what you may not know is that I enjoy drinking Rosé most in the fall. That’s right, Rosé is definitely not just for summer! The deeper flavours of medium-bodied dry Rosés are perfect for the autumn season and pair very well with all the best fall foods. Enjoy with harvest vegetable dishes, cozy roast dinners or afternoon cheese and charcuterie – the matches go on! In Ontario we have lots of local VQA Rosé options, so I’ve narrowed it down to my favourites. Here are the six Ontario Rosés you need to try this fall.

The best Ontario VQA Rose wine to drink in fall

1. The Foreign Affair Amarosé – $19.95

This Amarone influenced Rosé is made with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Gamay Noir. If you ask me, the perfect wine combination for fall! The Foreign Affair Amarosé is a medium-bodied dry wine with elegant flavours of cherry, apricot and tart apple with a hint of spice.

1. Cave Spring Dry Rosé – $13.95

The Cave Spring Dry Rosé has been my go-to wine this fall season. It’s so easy to pair with a wide variety of fall foods or perfectly enjoyed on it’s own. And at a great value of only $13.95, you can enjoy this wine all season long.

3. Featherstone Rosé – $15.95

Made with Cabernet Franc, Gamay and Merlot grapes the Featherstone Rosé is a beautiful vibrant wine. The lively acidity allows the Featherstone Rosé to pair with all your favourite fall foods like pumpkin salad, squash ravioli and applewood smoked pork.

4. Peninsula Ridge Beal Vineyard Cabernet Rosé – $14.95

This might be the best value wine on the list. Peninsula Ridge Beal Vineyard Cabernet Rosé is a medium-bodied dry wine made from Cabernet Franc. It’s bursting with elegant flavours of rhubarb, red currant and raspberry with a crisp herbaceous finish.

5. The Roost at Redwing Rosé – $18.95

The elegant Roost at Redwing Rosé is the wine you want for all your special fall feasts. It’s made from Pinot Noir grapes with red berry flavours and a lovely crisp finish. This Rosé is currently only available at a select few LCBO locations, so your best bet is to order through the winery shop.

6. Pelee Island Lola Cabernet Franc Rosé – $15.95

The Pelee Island Lola Cabernet Franc Rosé is an autumn beauty. It’s fall floral appearance is carried through in the wine – you’ll find flavours of wild flowers and cherry. Pair with a cheese and charcuterie picnic under some fabulous fall foliage.

Cheers to a Rosé coloured fall!
