Wine of the Week - Rustenberg Petit Verdot Rose - South Afircan Wine

Wine of the Week: Rustenberg Petit Verdot Rosé

I rarely reach for South African wine, but I’m so glad that the Rustenberg Petit Verdot Rosé caught my eye. The lovely bright pink colour, pretty label and attractive price tag had me immediately intrigued! The 2018 Rustenberg Petit Verdot Rosé is my wine of the week – and, honestly, might be my wine of the year. This wine is from the Simonsberg region in Stellenbosch South Africa, which is known for producing big bold wines. The Rustenberg Petit Verdot Rosé is no exception! It has deep flavours of strawberries, cranberries and red cherries that start round and soft and then finish on a refreshing crisp note. The Petit Verdot grapes give this medium-bodied dry Rosé it’s full flavours and naturally bright pink colour. I paired the Rustenberg Petit Verdot Rosé with herbed chicken for a delicious dinner, but it would also stand up to pork or beef. And something else that Stellenbosch South African wine is known for…great value! The Rustenberg Petit Verdot Rosé is only $13.95 at the LCBO. Pick yourself up a few bottles while it’s still available! The Rustenberg Petit Verdot Rosé is the type of wine that will carry you through all seasons. Rosé all year with this one!
