This week’s wine pick is one of my favourite Ontario Pinot Noirs and go-to spring reds. The Pelee Island Pinot Noir Reserve is a medium-bodied dry red wine made with 100% VQA grapes. You’ll first notice it’s beautiful ruby colour, followed by lovely scents of cherry, vanilla and chocolate. This wine has flavours of red berries, plums and cherries with some underlying notes of earth, herbs and mushrooms. These flavours combined with the structure and acidity make the Pelee Island Pinot Noir Reserve a very food friendly wine! Pair with a wide variety of foods like pork chops, mushroom ravioli and cheese boards. You can find the Pelee Island Pinot Noir Reserve at the LCBO for $17.95 or pick up a bottle from the winery’s online shop. After trying the Pelee Island Pinot Noir Reserve, I’m sure it will become one of your favourite springtime reds too!
