Wine of the Week: Casillero del Diablo Sauvignon Blanc

With fall in full swing and Halloween just around the corner, I have been drinking a lot of red wine. I love red wine,  but sometimes I crave a crisp white in between. The Casillero del Diablo Sauvignon Blanc fulfills my white wine cravings while still keeping with a Halloween feel.

Do you know the history of Casillero del Diablo? Quite spooky. Legend has it that back in the late 19th century to keep the thieves away, winery owner Concha Y Toro started a rumour that the devil was the wine cellars’ guardian. Under the devil’s watch the wine celebrations began. Rumour turned into legend and we continue the party today…

Casillero del Diablo

The Casillero del Diablo Sauvignon Blanc is a light, crisp, dry white. Poured from the iconic devil emblem bottle, the colour of this wine is a very pale yellow straw. Bright flavours of citrus, green apple and pear make the Diablo Sauvignon Blanc a very refreshing drink. And only $12.95 at the LCBO – a devilishly good deal!

If you’re like me and also need a little break from the reds sometimes,  but also want to keep a spooky vibe, the Casillero del Diablo Sauvignon Blanc is the wine for you this week!
