I love hosting my annual Halloween Wine Tasting Party, which I appropriately call ‘Witches Who Wine’. Last year, I paired wines with different Halloween candy – you can find details about the party here. This year, I picked six wines with the best spooky labels to taste. Continue reading for all the witchy details!
Guests were welcomed to the party with a sparkling apple cider cocktail – you can find the recipe for this delicious drink here. I had out some Halloween inspired cheese and charcuterie for guests to nibble on throughout the night. I’ll be sharing my favourite items for a Halloween cheeseboard on the blog next week! And I had to have out some Halloween candy and popcorn. I cannot resist the mini chocolate bars and candy this time of year!
Everyone was given a wine scoring card and the tasting ensued. I chose one rose, two whites and three reds with the spookiest wine labels. The wines that we tasted were: Apothic Rose, Casillero del Diablo Sauvignon Blanc, Ghost Pines Chardonnay, Diabolica Red, Raven Conspiracy Deep Dark Red, and Honoro Vera Garnacha. All the wines were bewitching, but the scoring cards revealed that the Ghost Pines Chardonnay and Apothic Rose were the favourites of the evening. My full review of each of these spooky wines coming to the blog next week!
Hosting a Halloween wine tasting party is a great way to kick off the season! It’s also the perfect opportunity to try all the spooky wines available this time of year. And who doesn’t love dressing up in their favourite witch costume!?
Happy Hallowine, witches!
