Over the weekend I hosted my annual Halloween wine tasting event – Witches who Wine. We tasted six different “spooky” wines from the LCBO, and Ghost Pines Chardonnay was the favourite. The Ghost Pines Chardonnay is from California and named after the grey pines on the vineyard property which appear to hover ghostlike at dusk. I’m typically not a fan of the big buttery California Chardonnays, but this one was different. There is still some of your typical Cali Chard flavours and textures, but done in an elegant and subtle way. It has flavours of baked apple and pear followed by a soft vanilla and butterscotch finish. Myself and all the girls at the wine tasting event were very impressed. A great wine pick for the Halloween season! The Ghost Pines Chardonnay is available in the LCBO vintages for $20.95.
